Photographs for stadium postage stamps project

Here is a double page spread in my sketchbook of two images of the Etihad Stadium that I used to develop my ideas and use in my final piece for my postage stamp designs.

Final piece for postage stamp project

This is my final piece for my postage stamps of football stadiums project. I used the theme of blue to represent the club’s team colours and the influence of Shepard Fairey to create these designs.

Further development for postage stamp project

I have used Shepard Fairey as a critical link so decided to use his idea of the lines in the background to show where the light is coming from. Also I have created my own pattern to use subtly in the background much like Shepard Fairey has done in the past. I took these photographs of The Reebok Stadium and The Etihad Stadium.

Drawing for postage stamps project

Using soft pencil crayons, I drew this image of the stadium showing the bright blue colour standing out against the grey and the structure of the stadium.

Final piece for exhibition advertisement project

This is the final piece for my project, which was to advertise for an exhibition for architecture at The Cube Gallery in Manchester. I have used the inspiration of the designers Linn Olofsdotter and Barbara Kruger. Barbara Kruger is incorporated in the idea of smashed glass in front of the image and also the text. Linn Olofsdotter is incorporated in the background colour wash in this piece.

Further development for exhibition advertisement project

This is a collection of my development work for advertisements for an exhibition with Linn Olofsdotter’s idea of the colour wash of watercolour, which I scanned into the computer, then used Photoshop to bring together the background; the Barbara Kruger inspired cracked glass, the outlines of the buildings and finally the text.
